I am a proud graduate of the Magdalena School District. I attended college & graduated Magna Cum Laude from ENMU, Portales.

After graduation, I was a Language Arts/English teacher for a total of 39 years, spending 25 of those years teaching in the Magdalena District. I also taught in Albuquerque at West Mesa High School and at Washington Middle School. Additionally, I spent 6 years teaching at Alamo Navajo School which was an extremely valuable experience, helping me to learn and grow greatly as an educator.

I have 3 adult children, 2 sons and a daughter who also attended Magdalena Schools and received an excellent education here in our very own district.

After retiring, I ran for a position on the Magdalena Board and was first elected in February of 2014. I want to thank this community for re-electing me to 2 additional board terms, allowing me to eventually serve in each and every board position: as Secretary, President, Vice-President and Member.

I have completed over 100 hours of coursework provided by The New Mexico School Board Association helping me to become a better and much more knowledgeable board member.

I love being a board member, and, at all times, I try my best to support and improve outcomes for all the genuinely talented and excellent students as well as employees of our outstanding school district.
